Looksy.org – is a social enterprise, just a group of people who got together to make this massive dream happen…from scratch. We got a grant to get the basics going – beyond that its been a labour of love.
looksy.org is a tool to allow GenC people to “reveal what your world is like”. Our dream is to create a film about GenC, by GenC by 100’s of individual contributions from all over the world…This film will have the largest number of contributors, filmers and people shown than any film in history. We will get the World Record for having the largest cast of people in a film in history – 90% of them normal unfamous people.
We will sell the end film (as DVD/Movie) and split the profits between founders, looksy.org and an environmental trust we have set up.
Looksy.org - It’s a voluntary thing – everyone in it are volunteers – contributors are volunteers. We have some links to ‘friendly business’ (Vodafone and alttv) via Jake (C3) but no nasty corporate sting. We were lucky enough to get a starter grant from Malcove….They gave us money to get a basic site going, spend time getting links and some money for editing down the line.
The reality is – we’re all putting heaps of time doing this – cos we love it.
